Sociocracy
The Format of a Circle Meeting
Minute of Silence
We like this. You could make it longer or shorter. It's a time to center yourself and it is a clear beginning to the meeting.

Have an opening round. Always without discussion, each person:
Introduces self (first meeting)
Relate recent experiences concerning the subject area of the meeting
Bring up any questions and points for the agenda

Handle administrative matters. Facilitator proposes:
Schedule: breaks, ending time
Agenda; ask for any additions or changes
Report of last meeting; ask for any corrections

Facilitator leads discussion of each point on the agenda.
Notetaker records each decision. Note: before discussing any matter, determine whether it is a policy or a 'doing' matter. Doing matters are removed from the agenda.
Discuss the matter, make a policy decision, and delegate someone to execute the decision

Have an evaluation round.
Each person evaluates how well the facilitator managed time and how well the meeting used the consent process, and other relevant comments concerning the conduct of the meeting. NO DISCUSSION during the evaluation round.

Minute of Silence
Center yourself again. It is a clear ending to the meeting.
