Performance On our final evening, we may perform scripts we've been working on during the week (could be skits, a play, readers theater, monologues, etc..) From the Twin Oaks membership, we might have a 30-50 person audience. Children will actively participate in writing, rehearsing, and performing a short play. We will create characters and a story, then write the script together. We'll also learn and play lots of creative and fun theater games every day. Drama coaches will work individually with kids at whatever level they currently are, challenging each to grow as a performer and have fun at the same time. We will have two sessions a day, one to two hours each. On the final day of camp we will hold a performance for an audience.
She's been performing for 15 years, and studied theater at Wittenberg, where she directed a show in college. She's performed professionally with the Know Theatre Tribe and Theatre IV in Cincinnati. She spent ~nine months working as an actress with a childrens theatre company. She loves working with children. She worked for one summer as a Montessori teachers assistant where she directed The Wizard of Oz. She grew up with a Montessori background and really appreciates that philosophy of teaching children. At Twin Oaks this year, she’s directed a musical production and two children’s plays. Her other interests include reading, cooking, crocheting, anything crafty or artsy, dancing, hiking, writing, philosophy, laughing, being barefoot, and helping plants grow.
