communitymade.com is the new store, opened Jan 1 2003, to sell products made in intentional communities. Cleo's (Twin Oaks) quilts are sold there at the time of opening. Products from other intentional communities are offered and other communities are invited to sell there. Other Twin Oaks craftspersons will likely soon be selling at this store.

www.ic.org and store.ic.org are the best places to go to access intentional communities information and to obtain publications such as Communities magazine and the Communities Directory.

directory.ic.org is the best online listing of intentional communities. Free. Since 2004.

Primal Seeds

From Corporate Watch magazine (UK) issue 10. Spring 2000: "Biotechnology multinationals are swollowing up seed companies, force-feeding us genetically modified food, pushing for patent on life and demanding liberal trade laws. Their legacy is the degraded soil and the endless monoculture of plants. To escape this mess we need to create methods of production and exchange which simply eliminate the need for corporations; and to ask for the food they can never produce. The answer to this is at the heart of the 'Primal Seeds' message: the seed is a revolutionary instrument. Visiting this website is equipping yourself with tools to make this a reality. From grafting edible varieties onto ornemental cherry trees in the park, to a passionate defence of 'weeds' and their medicinal properties, Primal Seeds gives us info and ideas so we can 'untangle ourselves from the monocult', and quietly undermine corporate power. This is an infromative, accessible and empowering website crafted with an obvious love and respect for the land"
