Our Dying Planet
Pictures Yeah, I still have a black background to protest the rich, white, men who think they can control our asses!

Hi, my name is Ted and I'll get right to the point. World oil production is at the top of it's bell-shaped Hubble curve. Production now is 100 million barrels a day and can only go down. Use is at 75 million barrels a day and will only go up as the population increases. Some predict that % of the world will be without electricity by the year 2020.

Let's act now to preserve the future.

One good way to change the systems that dominate our lives and oppress us and everyone we deal with is to learn about and adopt
Sociocracy.
This is a great idea and I'm privileged to have found out about it and be in a position to pass it on.

We know what to do in order to keep the world from dying of this cancer of human development and there are people even doing it. It's not very easy for them. Because some people are fighting against it. They have an incentive. They want extreme wealth and don't mind creating the worst poverty in order to do so. They want wars and they want a strong police force. The American Dream has become the American Nightmare. Nobody's safe anymore. They're not even safe.

We have to reduce our dependence on oil, but there are people who are very afraid of that idea. They have huge investments in it. They're willing to "stabilize" a government even if thousands of civilians are murdered in the process. They're willing to buy up all the media so that people are kept in the dark as to what they're really doing. their agencies spy on us and even murder us! And they encourage everyone to use as much oil as possible.

Maybe they think that after we've started running out of oil and having electricity blackouts they can suddenly hop on the sustainability bandwagon and be sitting pretty? Well, gee, we've already started running out of oil and having electricity blackouts! We need to Wake Up and get busy.

There has to be a mass consciousness change. Each of us will have to choose to be nonviolent and also low impact.

We have to prove that as a people that we can do those things that are right and responsible, but very hard to do. I like to think of it as the little devil and the little angel on our shoulders. sitting there with spear and harp. We have a choice, and we know what it is. some people are starting to do it, but we're moving slowly.

It's a lot easier than we think, but it's a personal question that each and every person has to answer in the course of their lives.

War is a pretty name for genocide of a few soldiers and a lot of civilians. All it really is is wealthy, powerful people protecting their business interests and claiming it is a worthy cause like protecting human rights. Sometimes as an excuse to start a war they create a situation where they create the circumstances and then let the enemy kill huge numbers of innocent people. We have seen demonstrations of the power of nonviolent action and know that it works. Many conditions have been won only because of it. Nonviolence works!

Luckily there are many things that we can do without needing to offer our bodies up for bodily harm. I came up with a list of nonviolent actions we can take to change the world. The cirteria for coming up with this list are that

1) They cause no harm.
2) They help more equitibly spread power.
3) Most people don't do these things already.
4) It is sustainable.

My translation of the Tao MeI'm 38 years old. I play bass guitar and pretend to write songs. I also like singing, playing guitar, piano, and saxophone.

I used to play music with Kana who would hang out down at the Compost Cafe. Kana played fingerpicking ragtimey old blues and standards.

Oh, by the way, I live on a commune!
Well, we prefer to call it an intentional community because of all the negative connotations associated with the word 'commune.'
Our sister communities are East Wind in Missouri and Acorn just down the road.

I also search out non-mainstream media so I can learn the truth about what's going on in the world. Some of my favorites are:

Independent media
Michael Ruppert's From the Wilderness Publications Die off
World Socialist Web Site News
The Emperor's New Clothes
The Gully
NarcoNews
WorldPopulation Try entering August 8th and 9th, 1999 into the calendar.
